Box Definition 

Box 23 on the CMS-1500 form is intended to display the payer-assigned authorization number for services.

In Kipu RCM

Authorization codes are automatically included on claims with U/R-required services. An authorization plan must be in place to record the patient's U/R-required service. For more information on creating U/R plans, click here.
