Box Definition 

Box 1 on the CMS-1500 shows the insured's plan type depending on the payer.

Let's review how to update Box 1 in the RCM!

1. Navigate to the patient profile and click on Treatment Episodes > Intake > Insurance.
    
2. Click on the insurance set. 
   
3. Next, click Policy Holder and select Edit.
    
4. Update the Plan dropdown. For information on creating a new plan, click here.
    
5. Finally, click Save to complete the process.
