February Release Highlights

Reporting Enhancements 

These updates are designed to streamline your financial reporting, offering precise control and insights into your billing and authorization processes. 

  • Enhanced Patient Billing Insights: Introducing a new filter for a Private Pay Charge Breakdown in the Patient Billable Report, offering a clearer view of individual patient charges and payments. Learn more. 
  • Expanded U/R Reporting: The U/R Report now features a "Plan Type" column, providing detailed insights into authorization and plan types, enhancing visibility and management of patient plans. Learn more. 

System and Interface Upgrades 

These improvements aim to streamline your workflow, enrich data accuracy, and provide deeper insights into your operations. 

  • Comprehensive Location Data: We've expanded state lists to include all U.S. Territories, ensuring your location data is as complete and accurate as possible. 
  • Streamlined Interface: Access has been streamlined with an expanded Notes and Issues section under Patient > Insurance Billing > Claims, making navigation and information retrieval more efficient. 
  • Detailed Attendance History: Attendance history now boasts added columns for Rev Code, Procedure Code, and Units, offering enhanced detail for better management and tracking. 

Patient and Payment Records Updates 

These updates are designed to streamline payment processes and ensure that insurance documentation is comprehensive and easily accessible, ultimately improving the efficiency and accuracy of your RCM operations. 

  • Enhanced Payment Tracking: Introducing a new Record Center filter based on the payor, making it easier to track payment collections efficiently. 
  • Comprehensive Insurance Documentation: Now with the capability to upload images of the patient's Rx Card, ensuring complete and accessible insurance documentation. 

What's next for Kipu RCM? 

Here's what's on the horizon for Kipu RCM, powered by AveaOffice. We’re promising exciting advancements to streamline your revenue cycle management, like: 

  • Payer Rates v2 and Claim Edits Betas: These features are currently in beta testing, with clients appreciating the new Export/Import tool and consolidated table features. We're eager for more participants to join and provide feedback. If you’re interested in shaping the future by becoming a beta tester, please go here, and under the Beta tab, vote/comment on the card to indicate you’d like to participate. 
  • Attendance v2 Beta Launch: Set to debut in a week, this beta version introduces a revamped view and a highly praised flag treatments feature, allowing users to temporarily hold treatments from billing with comments. 
  • U/R Planning Enhancements: Soon, we'll introduce enhancements that extend authorization plan features, including follow-up dates, notes, and statuses for both standalone and private pay planning. 
  • Claim Write-offs: In the near future, users will have the ability to create custom write-off labels and shortcodes, making it easier to adjust down uncollectable balances. 
  • Automated Claim Monitoring – Real-Time Status Checks: We're excited to start work on a feature that will revolutionize claim monitoring, allowing real-time updates directly from payers at the click of a button.

  • Manual Payment Posting: Some clients were experiencing issues with creating and adding payments that has since been resolved. 
  • UM Case Managers: Some clients were experiencing issues with assigning a UM Case Manager which has since been resolved. 

197.4 - February 22th, 2024

Enhanced

  • Manual Payment Posting: We have recently made some updates to simplify the manual payment creation process. As part of these updates, we have introduced a new option called Create and Add Payments while creating a new Payment Collection. This option will take you directly to the Payments section where you can start posting payments.
  • Manual Payment Posting: We have also made enhancements to the payment creation window. You can now view the Contract Type and Eligibility of the patient.
  • Manual Payment Posting: In addition, users can now utilize Copy Previous Adjustment to simplify posting adjustments to claims with multiple line items.   Moreover, users can quickly create additional payments by selecting the Save and Add New button.

Fixed

  • Organization selections: Some users had trouble maintaining their selected organization, which would revert back to the previous selection. This has since been resolved.

  • Patient Billable Report: A new filter has been added to the Patient Billable report. This filter allows a user to filter the report by Private Payer Charge Breakdown.

  • Currently Rejected/Held Claims: A new quick link in the Work Center > Insurance Claims > Currently Rejected/Held Claims allows users to resubmit the claim.

  • U/R Report: A new column, "Plan Type" has been added to the U/R Report. It displays Standalone Authorizations, Private Pay Plans, and Secondary/Tertiary plans.
  • Service Grouping Rules: The Facility can now be used as a condition when using Service Grouping Rules. 

196.3 - February 8th, 2024

  • Updated State Lists: State lists in Avea now include all U.S. Territories.
  • New Record Center Filter: A Payer filter has been added to the Record Center > Insurance Payments > Payment Collections.
  • Rx Card Images: Users can now upload the front and back of the Patient's Rx Card within the Patient > Intake > Insurance > Insurance Set.   

196.2 - February 6th, 2024

Enhanced

  • Updated Interface: The user interface within  Patient > Insurance Billing > Claims has been updated. The Notes and Issues section have been expanded to include more information with less clicks. 
  • Attendance History: The Attendance History within the Patient >  Treatment Episode > Scheduling and Utilization section of the system has three new columns: Rev Code, Procedure Code, and Units.
