Helpful Hints

Click below for some helpful hints for using the RCM!

  • To search for a patient by name, click on the Search Bar located in the upper-right corner of the RCM. Enter the patient's name, and you will see a list of patients who have matching first or last names. You can use the quicklinks next to each patient's name to be directed to specific sections of their profile.
  • Claim IDs in the RCM follow the same alphanumeric format, divided into four groups. Let's use AV-XXXX-C1234567-1.X as an example.
    • First Group, AV: This two-letter group is a software signature and cannot be changed.
    • Second Group, XXXX: This group will vary depending on the practice prefix set up during implementation.
    • Third Group, C1234567: This group is referred to as the Claim Number and always starts with the letter C. To open the claim directly, enter the claim number into the search feature in the upper-right corner of the RCM.
    • Fourth Group, 1.X: This group indicates the payer hierarchy and claim version. For example:
      • A claim submitted in its original version to the primary payer will end in 1.1
      • A 3rd correction submitted to the primary payer would end in 1.4
      • A claim submitted to the secondary payer in its original version will end in 2.1
  • Yes! To look at a different section of the RCM without losing your page, locate the desired hyperlink and right-click it. Click Open in a Tab to open the different sections of the RCM and toggle between the two screens.
