The Daily Census Report provides information on attendance for a selected day, provided that attendance has been marked for that day. Additionally, this report can be used to identify which patients have authorized days but lack service records in the Attendance Calendar.
Generating the Report
Let's review how to create the Daily Census Report!
- Navigate to the Reporting section.
- Under Attendance Reports, select Daily Census Report.
- Update the filters to instruct the system on how to generate the report.
- Finally, click Run Report to complete the process.
Available Filters and Definitions
- The Selected Services filter allows you to generate and refine the report based on the service(s) rendered.
- The Date instructs the system what day the census should be generated.
- Show Medical Record Number will add a column to the report that displays the MRN.
- Show Patient Birth Sex will add a column to the report that displays the patient's sex at birth.
- Show Patient Age will add a column to the report that displays the patient's age.
- Show Patient City will add a column to the report that displays the patient's city.
- Show Referral Source will add a column to the report that displays how the patient was referred to the organization.
Viewing the Report
The Daily Census Report produces three tables of information, broken down by patient status.
Note: The Attendance Calendar shows patients—both admitted and prospective—up to one week before their admission. However, this report only lists patients admitted on or during the date of service. As a result, fewer patients will appear in the report compared to the calendar.
- The In Attendance table identifies patients who had services recorded in the calendar on or after the start date established in the report.
- The Absent table represents patients who have an active U/R plan covering the specified date, but did not have any services recorded on that date.
- The Not Scheduled table displays patients who are currently admitted but do not have an active U/R plan in place, and therefore have no U/R-required services recorded in the calendar.
