Our product team is excited to announce the release of our updated Utilization Review interface. With this release, users can expect to view more billing information related to the plan, a streamlined process for creating standalone authorizations and private-pay plans, and a dedicated area in the Work Center. Let's review these changes in more detail! For more information on creating and managing utilization reviews, click here.

Standalone Authorizations and Private-Pay Plans

With this update, creating standalone authorizations and private-pay plans will now take place within the U/R tab of the patient's treatment episode. The Service Rates tab will remain the source of truth for single-case agreements.

Additionally, both standalone authorizations and private-pay plans will now have unit tracking.

Increased Visibility Of Information

The new U/R layout provides users with additional information related to billing, such as:

  1. Insurance Contact Details: The Insurance Care Manager field has been updated to the Insurance Contact field and offers users two fields to enter and manage authorization agent information.
  2. Practice (Billing) Info: Practice billing information will now be displayed in the U/R section of the patient's treatment episode. The information included pulls directly from Practice Admin > Insurance Billing.
  3. Case Management Info: The U/R Case Manager portion has now been renamed Case Management Info.
  4. Subscriber Info: Subscriber information will now be displayed in the same section, including the subscriber name, relationship, and a link to the eligibility section of the patient's insurance set.

Dedicated Section For Working Plans

In addition to providing more information, the VOB and U/R section of the Work Center is now split. With this change, users will now have a dedicated area to better manage U/R plans. This section includes more filters, more actions, and more customizable views to only include the information you want to see.

Combining Plans

With this new release, the system can now combine claims with traditional U/R plans with standalone plans when the authorization number is the same. This update will prevent claims from splitting before submission, but it requires proper configuration. For more information on combining plans, click here.
