Box 24b - Place of Service

Box Definition 

Box 24b is used to identify the location where the professional service was rendered. The Place of Service (POS) is displayed as a two-digit code.

• The Place of Service is managed in the Service Billing Profile. To learn more about updating the billing profile, click here. 
• A Servicing Grouping Rule can be used to update the Place of Service and/or update the billing profile with which the claim is created.
• The POS can be altered on a claim before submitting it using our Claim Edits feature. To learn more about this feature, click here.
