Box 51a/b/c - Health Plan ID

Box Definition 

Box 51a displays the national health plan identifier, also known as the payer ID (when established). 

In Kipu RCM

The Electronic Payer ID determines the ID submitted in Box 51 the clearinghouse has on file. You can find this number in the Kipu RCM under Practice Admin > Payers; however, it cannot be edited manually.  For more information on payers, click here. 

EDI Loop and Segment

2010BB NM109 (destination payer line) is required. 2330B NM109 (non-destination payer line(s) is only required when there is more than one payer on the claim. For additional information on loops and segments, click here.
