Use the national health plan identifier when established otherwise the number that the health plan has assigned to their particular plans operations.
The ID submitted in Box 51 is determined by the Electronic Payer ID the clearinghouse has on file. You can find this number in AveaOffice under Practice Admin > Payers, however, it cannot be edited manually.
Box 51 can be edited to a new payer ID by changing the insurance profile.
To change the patient relationship to insured on the claim form:
- Navigate to the patient's Intake > Insurance tab.
- Click into the insurance set payer for the claim.
- Click Change to update the payer and payer ID.
- Select an existing payer or add a new payer.
- Click Select.
