Box 20 - Outside Lab Charges, $ Charges

Box Definition

Box 20 on the CMS-1500 form is used to indicate that lab services were rendered by an independent provider.

In AveaOffice

To update Box 20 in AveaOffice:

1. Navigate to Practice Admin > Facilities
2. Select the facility.
   
3. If a scheduled change set is needed, select Create Scheduled Change Set.
4. Select the edit icon next to the change set. If editing the baseline, select the edit icon next to baseline.
5. Toggle "Is Outside Lab?" to "Yes".
   
6. Save.
