Box 9 - Other Insured's Name

Box Definition 

Box 9 displays the subscriber's name on secondary and tertiary claims. 

In Kipu RCM

• If the patient is the subscriber, clicking on the Patient Profile section of a treatment episode allows you to manage the patient's name. For more information on managing patient demographics, click here. 
• If the subscriber differs from the patient, the name can be updated within the Policy Holder section of the patient's profile. For more information on updating the policyholder information, click here. 

EDI Loop and Segment

This information will only be present in the EDI of secondary and tertiary claims. Loop 2330A, Segment NM103 (Last), NM104 (First), NM105 (Middle Initial). For additional information on loops and segments, click here.
