Users can add or manage diagnosis codes with ease in the RCM.
User Permissions
Organization Users or Managing Organization Users will require edit-level permissions to be toggled on under the Permissions > Patient Access subsection of their user profile.
Configuration
Diagnoses are managed at the Practice Admin level and can only be toggled on or off by an Organization or Managing Organization Admin.
Add and Manage Diagnosis Codes
The same workflow can be used to add and manage diagnosis codes. Let's review the process together!

- Navigate to the Patient's profile.
- Next, click the Quick Links carrot and select Intake.
- Click Behavioral Service Diagnoses.
- To update the Admitting diagnosis, select Set. Please note that the principal diagnosis will automatically update when the admitting diagnosis is updated.
- To update the Principal diagnosis, select Set.
- To add a diagnosis, select Add ICD10 Behavioral Diagnosis.
- Next, input the desired code or a keyword of the dx code you want to select and click Search.
- Once you have located the desired code, click the + icon.
- Confirm the information in the Code field.
- Update the Present on Admision dropdown when applicable.
- Finally, click Set Code to complete the process.
- Navigate to the Patient's profile.
Note: Deleting a Standalone Service Diagnosis will not remove it from the Behavioral Service Diagnoses tab. However, deleting a Behavioral Service Diagnosis will remove it from the Standalone tab.
Generate Corrections
When the admitting diagnosis is updated, previously submitted claims with U/R-required services will automatically generate corrections. Claims with standalone services will require the diagnosis code to be manually updated in the attendance calendar. For more information on managing attendance, click here.
